The Supportive Housing Program
The ECS Supportive Housing Program brings together:
- A low-income family who are committed to making change in their lives.
- An experienced case manager from Episcopal Community Services.
- A faith-congregation in partnership with Episcopal Community Services.
- A group of individuals from that faith-congregation committed to supporting families in need.
- A volunteer mentor willing to make a personal investment in the life of a family.
- A rental subsidy and various practical resources provided by the faith-congregation.
While in the program, participant families work to:
- Locate stable, affordable housing
- Stabilize the family budget.
- Employ strategies to improve economic self-sufficiency.
- Identify and enhance family strengths.
- Connect to the community through a network of resources.
- Identify long-range goals.
